birthcontrol pills and depression

I am a 19 yr. old woman who is in therapy for an eating disorder. I also suffer from mild to moderate depression. My question is I am considering going on the pill to clear up my skin and hopefully to boost my selfconfidence and would like to know if the pill will help or possibly hurt my depression. I've heard that the pill will normalize my hormonal imbalance and in turn will help with my mood swings, but I've also heard that the pill can cause depression and mood swings. Please help me decide whether the pill is right for me or not. I don't have a doctor so I will be going to planned parenthood.
