?? about sitz baths for vulvar pain, and how to use sitz panFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 Dec 1999 23:44:39 -0800 (PST)
I ended up having to go back to the dr on Mon to find out why I was still having vulvar pain. My dr said that there is no more yeast, but that the vulvar area especially around the clitoris was redder than when she saw it two weeks ago. One of the things that she recommended doing to try and help the vulvar pain is doing sitz baths. I explained to her that I have to pay for my water, and so she mentioned getting a sitz bath pan. I got one and have started using it. My dr wants me to do the sitz baths twice a day for at least 20 minutes. She seems to feel that this will help me feel better. What I want to know is have any of you drs prescribed sitz baths for your patients who have vulvar pain due to vulvodynia? Also, is there a certain way to use the sitz bath pan for treating vulvar pain (I'm not sure if I'm sitting in it right)?
>From the research that I have done on the use of sitz baths I know that it can be used to treat other gyn problems but I've not heard of it being used to help relieve vulvar pain. Thanks so much for your time.
