Re: Question for Dr. M, Pain & FMSFrom: Gina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 Dec 1999 08:34:07 -0600 (CST)
Hi Susan, Yes I had a hyst. on 8/12/99 and a BSO on 9/15/99. Both times massive adhesions were removed, including new ones that grew in the 4 weeks between these 2 surgeries. Yesterday I finally saw the GI doc again and he says I might have to consider another surgery since he feels I have adhesions interfering with my bowels. He says I do NOT have IBS. And he's the expert! (My PCP however has already Dx me as having IBS and FMS, which makes me mad). I am having an ERCP next week to hopefully take care of the gallbladder like attack pain (I don't have a gallbladder, that was removed along with appendix in 1987). GI doc feels I have new gall stones as well as scar tissue in my common bile duct. So am crossing fingers and hope it helps with some of my pain. Also went to massage therapist for the 1st time yesterday and she was extremely careful and gentle but it still hurt alot. She found the same lumps my husband did in my back and buttock area, and she says they are NOT muscle knots. She thinks they are cysts or some type of growths because they move around alot! So now I'm not sure what to do. My PCP refuses to refer me for an MRI or any follow up tests. I am giving it 2 weeks (til after the ERCP which my PCP also tried having cancelled but luckily the GI guy agrees with me that it's necessary), then going back to the PCP and let him have it! He'll either do some follow ups or I'll have to find another doctor again. I too regret the hysterectomy now because it seems all my problems stem from that surgery. Gina
