pull out medical/pharmaceutical books - fever/progestin

I've been here before about a low grade fever and would VERY much appreciate any time you can spend on a bit of research to help me in my search in regards to progestin.

Here's the scenario. I started two different types of pills at the beginning of the year and had continued breakthrough. My doctor then prescribed lo/ovral. Ovral and Lo/ovral both are mixtures of estrogen and norgestrel. Norgestrel and one other progestin are made up differently that the norethindrone acetate based progestins.

What I'd to know is this:

If the pill has a stronger form of progestin - is it possible that it could elevate a woman's temperature a degree or so?

I've found a few articles to support this - but to be frank, the internet doesn't have much detailed information. It seems that when estrogen decreases and progesterone increases that is when ovalation occurs when a follicle explodes to release an egg. If the egg is not fertilized, then both estrogen and progesterone levels lower and the lining sloughs off.

What I have noticed is that my temperature decreases significantly during the last part of my menses. WOuld this indicate that there might be some connection to the temperature?

Have gone through a number of tests - blood tests, etc. C-reactive protein was normal, sed rate was low: 10) and there was no elevation of white blood cells etc. I'm not familiar w/the rest of the tests done.

Would very much appreciate your input in regards to this subject. I am hoping that perhaps some of the literature you have available has some information on this.

I also came across the possibility of allergic reactions to some progestins.

Thanks a load in advance, Elizabeth
