Pelvic pain, normal ultrasound, lap in JanFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 20 Dec 1999 23:14:36 -0600 (CST)
I have had pelvic pain, right side for about 5 weeks now. Last week, saw OB/GYN, pelvic exam showed nothing, except extreme pain and nausea after exam. Ultrasound next day was normal. Negative for PID. Symptoms include bloating (look 3 months pregnant), nausea, pain concentrated on right side, irregular bowels (either constipation or diarrhea). My doctor suspects endo. I had surgery 4/98 for ovarian cyst removal. My doctor doesn't think it's surgical adhesions from that since I haven't had pain until recently. To be frank, I'm very scared. From what I do know of endo, it seems to be something I'll have forever. And I don't know how this could be endo, since I take Ortho Novum 1/28 back to back, and have not had period in over a year. Also from what I have read, since I'm having bowel trouble, it could be possible I have endo/adhesions in my bowel. How is that corrected? Under what circumstances would a uterus be removed because of endo? I'm 25. Does this mean I don't really stand a chance of ever getting pregnant? Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.
