VaginitisFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 19 Dec 1999 13:18:30 -0600 (CST)
Dr. Marchbein, thank you for volunteering your time and assistance in answering questions. I have asked two questions before re.vaginitis. Was seen last week for this again - had a positive Gardnerella culture in Feb.99, nothing on the cultures since then. Treated with Flagyl x3 over this period. TAH in 9/99 for adeno/fibroids, on Premarin. I am still having irritation, burning, occ. redness and occ. itching (very mild). I have a milky-white, thin, watery discharge with no odor. The GYN noted only a few"yeast cells" and a complete absence of any white cells and the things that you "usually see". She isn't sure. Was given Mycolog topical to use twice per day and Nystatin pills 200mg once per day for 7 days. My question is, could this be BV without odor? (Was on Zithromax 4 wks ago for bronchitis) Also, can the antifungal throw me back into BV if that is not BV now. I am not sure that you can have yeast that is thin, watery. The steroid cream stings, I am on day 3, I am not sure there either if I should continue. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. I am so tired of this continued irritation/burning and no real answers. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. Pat
