Holly, I'm not a Dr., but I will try and help where I can...estrogen does put a person with a high risk of clotting at a higher risk...does that make sense??

I have been told that if I don't get a period after three months, I need to call my Dr. to get an Rx for Provera to start the cycle. Dr. M on the forum says three to four months (same difference ;o) ). Having said that, I don't know if it still applies to you since you have had a miscarriage....have you had a period since that miscarriage? Or, is this what they are trying to induce (first period after miscarriage)?

Holly, I definitely understand your leariness (sp?) about your situation and taking medications. Since you have thryoid problems, maybe seeing an endocrinologist to get that under control would be a better alternative to your GP, as well, see an OBGYN regarding your cycles and future pregnancies, etc.

Good luck!! I'm sorry for the loss that you have suffered. I don't think there is anything worse than losing a child! I have two cousins, each lost their babies at 6.5 months, and they are both forever changed from that!

I am sure Dr. Harvey will have a better answer for you, but thought I would help out in the meantime ;o)....
