First of all, don't start the diet pills (whatever they are). Was the cholesterol fasting? If not, the test isn't completely valid. For your pap smear they will take a pap and do a pelvic exam. Having some idea of your periods is helpful to help your provider know what the situation is. How old are you? How many days from the beginning of one period until the beginning of another period ? Cycles can be anywhere from around 25-25 days to 32 + days and still be normal. Perhaps they will suggest the birth control pill which will make your periods be every 28 days. Your history is very difficult to evaluate over the email waves...

I posted a few months ago about a bleeding problem I was having, I would bleed for 2 weeks then stop for 1 then start bleeding 2 weeks again. This started in June, after having a baby last November. I had started having normal periods sometime after birth, but the June one was the first to be so messed up. Well, 6 months later I'm still having these strange periods but now they seem to be even longer, but now the heaviest bleeding (not really heavy at all) occurs on the first couple days then its just light but steady for a while then the last week or so is so light a pad isn't necessary, but is still noticeable on toilet paper. Then I get a week or so of relief then it starts all over again. I think the current cycle is going for 4 weeks now, I tried keeping track of it for a while but stopped. I originally thought that I was hypothyroid after having the baby (had many symptoms that hypo's have like sleeping 12 hours and waking up tired, always cold, brain fog, etc...) but I finally got to see a doc (family practice) this last week (put it off due to insurance) and she ordered tests for TSH, iron and cholesterol (not sure if that was all) and I got the results yesterday, cholesterol was 208 and she's sending me diet pills (!?!?), my TSH was 1.31, and I couldn't remember the results of the iron, but it must have been normal since they didn't mention it. I am scheduled for a pelvic exam in about 2 weeks, I have no idea what she would be looking for and I also cannot predict what part of my cycle I'd be on anymore (it used to be quite regular, 2 weeks bleeding 1 week not). I should also mention I have not been to a doctor since having the baby, so this isn't a result of any procedures, I don't take any medications, rarely have sex (no sex drive), and I'm a bit overweight (have been since about puberty). If anyone has any suggestions please reply and/or email me at masmiseim666@hotmail.com. Oh, and last time I posted I got an email from someone (my only response!) with links on things like fibroids and endo, but I read all the info and it didn't sound quite right but when I read about hypothyroidism that really made a lot of sense.
