I'm not a Dr., but going to tell you what I have been told....

A hysterectomy usually only helps when the uterus itself is involved (i.e. Adenomyosis, Fibroids). If the uterus is otherwise healthy, then taking it out is not going to solve your problem, just leave you without a uterus. You could then have another set of problems from the surgery, such as adhesions.

Has the Dr. ever done a laparoscopy to look for Endometriosis, or any other disorder that could be going on in your pelvis? If not, talk to your Dr. If the medications aren't working for you, then maybe an exploratory lap as opposed to having a hysterectomy would be a better alternative.
