Progesterone use after miscarriagesFrom: Kris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Nov 1999 10:03:49 -0600 (CST)
I am hoping someone can let me know if this is routine after someone has had multiple losses. I'm 25 and have no children. I've had 2 miscarriages since August of this year, and both pathology reports from the D&C's came back normal. I've has the blood tests for lupus and other antibodies, and they've come back normal, too. We are still waiting on the results of the chromosome testing. My doctor has told me that he'll have me start progesterone supplements once I'm pregnant again. I don't think I've had any progesterone tests during the previous 2 pregnancies. Is it common to prescribe the progesterone without any testing? Will this have any adverse affects if low progesterone isn't causing my miscarriages? I'd be interested in any opinions on this. Thanks, Kris
