I combined the 2 posts to make it easier.

I had my surgery last week, and the mass, which was the size of a large grapefruit on 11/5, was the size of a volleyball - no surprise to me as the pain, pressure and abdomen distention had increased so much since that time. The diagnosis was epethial serious cystadenoma (pending final pathology report, which hasn't came back yet)

I was given all this info after surgery - so I was of course out of it mostly. I do know that I was able to keep my right ovary. What exactly is this ESC,

Epithelial - from the outer convering of the ovary; Serous - a type of cell producing fluid of a watery consistency; Cystadenoma - a cyst comprised of gland-like cells. Serous cysts are benign.

there for recurrence

Benign serous cysts should not recur if removed in toto (totally).

section?

Not likely but it depends upon the skill of the hospital pathologist.

Thanks, :) Victoria

"Doctor, it hurts when I press here." "Don't press there!" 2.5 weeks after surgery is an unlikely time for a post operative infection, but i would still get it checked out. It may not be the right ovary as much as the area around the right ovary.... sensitivity after surgiery is not uncommon.

This isn't related to the ovary so I can't say.
