Sonogram Report... Can I choke the Technician?From: Erin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 18 Nov 1999 16:33:12 -0600 (CST)
Dr. M and everyone else, I'm so frustrated! I've never been condescended to as much as that ultrasound technician did me today. She flat out told me that I misunderstood her and that she's been doing this for 20 years and there's no way she would have told me it was on my uterus. SHE'S LYING. I will swear on my great-grandfather's grave, my own life, and all that's holy that that woman's exact words are "there's a cyst on your uterus, that's where your pain is coming from." Now she's telling me differently, as per the report below, which she says SHE wrote. Given that this is apparently on my right ovary (although in the pic it IS smashed up against my uterus in some fashion or another) should I still get a second opinion? I'm feeling progressively worse, slowly but surely. My confidence in this clinic is also severly shaken in light of this. Am I being paranoid or should I trust them more? I asked what would be done if it had grown or failed to shrink and the nurse said they would probably "do a scope and remove it." I wouldn't mind having it removed, but with all the trouble I've had with them, I'm not sure I feel secure letting them cut around my ovary like that. *Gulp* One final question. I've been on birth control since february. Doesn't that stop you from ovulating? Why on earth should I have a cyst this large on my ovary if i'm not even supposed to be ovulating??? Thanks in advance! Very much frustrated, Erin UTERUS: Long - 5.7 x 3.0 Trans - 3.1 x 2.9 RIGHT OVARY - 5.3 x 3.8 cm LEFT OVARY - 2.0 x 1.3 IMPRESSION - Small UT (uterus) was seen. Cyst was seen on Rt OV (right ovary) measures 5.3 x 3.8 cm. No fibroids or fluid in cul-de-sac
