Your kidneys are at the lower edge of the ribs in the back - above where your belly button would be if it were in your back. You're not complaining of mid-back pain so I'm not sure your pain is kidney pain.

Can't think of a scenario where intercourse would cause kidney pain.

Unfortuntely, dozens of reasons for lower back pain. Can't be too specific about that.
