Uterine Cancer?????From: Anita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 11 Nov 1999 10:25:11 -0600 (CST)
When is it time to worry about heavy periods with clotting in a premenopausal woman - age 49? I've been having heavier periods for the past few years and doc said it was symptoms of perimenopaus. Also skipping periods some months and mid cycle spotting a couple of times. Periods last 5-6 days but come every 25 days. I had a normal pelvic ultra sound and pap 2 months ago. Uterus on ultra sound was 9.7 x 5.5 x 4.9 cm and endometrial echo does not exceed 6mm. Doc also did a CA125 which was normal. Would a normal CA125 rule out uterine cancer or does it just detect ovarian cancer? I wouldn't be worried about any of this except that I've been feeling really lousy for the last few months with nausea, indigestion, pelvic pains, backaches, some bowel problems, and fatigue. I've also had several blood tests, endoscopy and colonoscopy which were all normal. What do you think? I know this is a lot of info and questions but I'm really at my wits end with all of this and so wiped out from doctor visits and testing I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
