Re: low blood sugar during periodsFrom: AnnMarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 9 Nov 1999 00:29:15 -0600 (CST)
I can't really offer advice, but I can maybe offer support. I haven't ever noticed this happening with my periods, but I noticed it in my last pregnancy. I always noticed symptoms at least a couple of hours after a meal and at the level of 60 or below. My record low that I know of was 42 or 47, something like that. I worked at a hospital then, so I could test my sugar with a unit glucometer anytime I felt the need. I still notice things once in a while, especially after consuming high-carbohydrate, delicious sugary foods; but mostly now palpitations bother me most. I've heard that watching one's diet helps and avoiding simple sugars. Good luck! AM
