I'm trying to take your post in a light hearted manner - in regards to describe the size/weight of the uterus, etc. I had asked you that same question a few months earlier, and from your own answer, did a bit of computations and that's how I came up w/the comparison for the uterus to a candy bar. My main focus being why the uterus is stated for being too heavy to hold up for those w/prolapse - it being the main culprit for undoing anterior repairs. Why not try to "visualize" this organ?
>From your quote: "uterine size varies depending on a woman's age, Update on the weight/size - 40-50 grams = 1 1/3 to 1 2/3 ounces for a nulliparous woman and plus an extra 20-30 gms would add up to a total 2 to 3 2/3 ounces for a multi parous woman. Uterus conversion for length/width is "nulliparous" - 3 1/4 x 2 x 1 inches "multiparous" - 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches I've since researched the size of the ovary, and found the walnut comparison, but everything I found on the fallopian tubes described them as being think as a pin - nothing to fat worms. Thanks for your information Doc ;-)! No 'Liz' ova' here.
