Progesterone to treat Cysts?

I talked to my doctor's nurse over the phone today and she said I could either wait for the cyst to go away on its own or come in for a progesterone shot. (I could be mixed up btw shot and pill?) I opted for the progesterone rather than just waiting because I'm tired of suffering with this and am suspicious that a lot of the nausea and irritable bowel may be linked to the cyst. I didn't have problems with them until about 2 months ago. I have two questions. Will the progesterone have any adverse effects on the effectiveness of my OC's? Is progesterone treatment of cysts one of those myths or things that have been disproven like the OC's have? (re Dr. Marchbein's reply to the msg "Uterine Cyst") They're also going to schedule me for another sono in a month to see if it's gone yet. If it's not, what would be your next suggestion for treatment? Thanks so much everyone!
