Susan,

With a 9.2 hemaglobin, no wonder you are tired. If you haven't had an H&H (Hemaglobin and Hematocrit) done since you left the hospital, it might be worth having it done to check the status of your anemia. I suffer from Anemia of Chronic Illness, and my H&H tends to run low. It was dropping steadily for several weeks, with a low of 8.6 for a hemaglobin and 28.8 for my hematocrit. I get an injection called Procrit which works well at elevating my H&H and maintaining it at an acceptable level. Procrit is not used on all anemia patients, I guess it depends on what type you suffer from, but it is worth finding what your H&H is, and if still low, being treated. It will help with your feelings of being tired.

I have received B12 in the past and never really noticed a change, but everyone is different. I can't wait to see what the our Great Dr. has to say on this. I have wondered the same thing in the past.

Good luck and please, feel better!
