I'm not aware of any study from pathology that compares the admitting diagnosis and discharage diagnosis. Leiomyomata are rather classic in appearance but may obscure the visualization of the myometrium in its entirety, thereby obscuring adenomyosis appearing myometrium.

I don't believe it is common but certainly can happen.
