Post-hysterectomy followupsFrom: Mamaw (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Oct 1999 21:58:33 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed in August with complex endometrial hyperplasia with atypia. I had a total hysterectomy with bladder repair two weeks ago and was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, Stage 1B. I have seen my doctor twice since then and my post-op exam is scheduled in three weeks. He wants to do a follow-up in three months and then see me every six months to keep a watch on me. What can he possibly see or catch if I no longer have any reproductive organs left? How can you do a Pap if there's no cervix? If the cancer were to spread, and I don't see how since it was not invasive, how or where would it be likely to occur? Any answers you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you.
