Vaginal Bleeding- is it Fibroids/cyst/endo?From: Gina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 24 Oct 1999 21:14:09 -0500 (CDT)
I have had pain on and off with sex the past 3 yrs or so (maybe longer, can't remember now). It has always felt like it's been been on my left side of my upper vaginal wall. Last year my doctor said it may be endometriosis (seemed like a guess), but we never did anything further because i didn't (and still won't till prob March of next year) have health insurance. Well, over the past month or so i started to get really bad itching (and feeling pressure on my bladder).. which sometimes hurts too, on that same left side. I went to the gynecologist- i had my yearly right before/around the time i started to have probs... they said that i had a lot of white cells in my discharge- gave me doxycycline... that didn't work at all- so i asked for Flagyl since i had a history of BV, so i thought maybe that would help. Took that, still didn't help. So i went back to the office again, this time they said the inside of my vagina looked fine, no BV, Trich, (slight yeast they said, but not enough to cause any probs). I happened to have a low temp during that time too- so i let them know, and they gave me a blood test too to make sure i didn't get any infection that went up in my cervix. Nothing... I did tell her about my vaginal pain and she poked the area that i told her had hurt, and she said the pain was up in my uterus. They told me maybe i should get an ultrasound, but since i don't have health ins, it's hard to say what to do. Because if i get it now and something is there i need surgery for.. when i do get health ins.. it won't be covered. Anyway- i have had bleeding since Oct 16th (light red- doesn't look like same color as when i have my period- and i won't be getting my period until Oct 27th). I'm worried that whatever is bothering me might be bleeding inside me. (i have been taking Ortho-Novum 7/7/7 the past 3 yrs and haven't had any probs really with the pill). Is this possible to have bleeding with cysts or fibroids- or endo? If it is caused by this, since it seems minor- should i be alarmed- and should it stay ok till i can have it checked out till March of next year? I think having intercourse for a long time might have aggrivated what i have- is that possible (if it's fibroids)? Sorry- i know that's a lot of questions! Thank You, Gina
