am I 3 months or 6 weeks?

I Have always had irregular periods. I went off the pill in May, skipped period in June, had one in July, and skipped August and September. I took a pregnancy test in August that came out negative. When I went to the doctor in Sept., they told me I was pregnant. Using the usual method, they calculated me at almost 3 months. I didn't think they were accurate because I had (and still have) NO symptoms! To make an incredibly long story a little shorter, When I went to the doc for my first ultrasound, he told me he couldn't see anything in my uterus. He also said that there was a 75% chance that this isn't a viable pregnancy. I went for a second ultrasound the next morning, and the tech said that there is a sac in there (actually, what appears to be 3!), and I could only be 5 to 6 weeks -- and that's the reason why nothing showed up on the first one. I am so confused! I go back to the doc tomorrow for another ultrasound. Is it possible that they could be so wrong about my dates? I have already prepared myself for the WORST, but there is still maybe a glimmer of hope. Is there a chance this could turn out in a positive way?? DOes anyone Know? Thanks for listening!
