7.5 FSH; <15 estrogen levelFrom: Beverly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 11 Oct 1999 06:57:30 -0500 (CDT)
Can you help me understand the above numbers. As I understand it, a FSH of => 25 means menapause; a FSH in the high teens and low 20s means perimenapause. So my 7.5 indicates to me that I'm not there yet. Then what could be the reason for my estrogen level being less than 15 when I've been told it's usually between 75-100 for most women to be feeling OK. I'm having no menapausal symptoms except than I'm 50 and missed all my periods this summer when I was doing three exercise periods daily to lose weight. Since fall has started my periods are regular at 21 days again. I've got a new ob-gyn because of insurance (boo), and she wants to put me on birth control pills to get some estrogen into my body. I'm looking for information before I decide on that.
