Scheduled HysterectomyFrom: Cynthia (anonymous@obgyn.net@smtp)Thu, 30 Sep 1999 11:34:00 -0500 (CDT)
I am desperate for options to the hysterectomy and removal of ovaries already scheduled for October 13. After a Lupron injection on July 2, my fibroids have shrunk in preparation for surgery. However, my own investigation combined with last night's reading of "Hysterectomy Hoax" has resulted in possible cancellation of the operation. Clinical trials for embolization or further Lupron treatment are now occurring at nearby Georgetown University Hospital and I await a screening phone-call from them, also. If anyone out there can give me some advice, it will certainly be welcomed. Is extraction of fibroids inevitable. I am a 46-year-old with two teenagers and have been healthy as a horse. The fibroids have become a nuisance lately due to the typical bloating, constipation, more frequent urination, and knowledge of fibrous growths inside.
