For the last six months, every other month my period has been lighter then normal. (Normal- 2 days light then heavy for 6 to 7 days, then light for a day or two. Since I was 14 y/o.) Light as in two days then stops. The odd month very heavy, but that stands to reason. This month cramping and abdominal pain has been present, heavier then normal, I feel it was a cyst that had burst. On again off again bleeding. Have an appt 10-5 discussing hysterectomy. I do not take BC, am 40 y/o. Laparoscopy done about every four years due to endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvis inflammation and leasions from C-section. Intercourse is painful, but have learned to live with it. Dr has suggested hysterectomy. Choice of total or leave cervix. Why would one want to leave cervix? Is there a benefit at all? Sex? One more then I'm done, when would an abdominal procedure be done over a vaginal? Thank you for your opinion, all taken into consideration:)
