Menstruation is one of the most common, if not the most common, migraine triggers for women. It may not be a woman's only trigger (mine are menstruation, stress, certain perfumes). For this reason, many women have some migraine relief after menopause.

Since you are displeased with the treatment and relief you've obtained, why not ask for a referral to a headache specialist (if you're in the "big city") or neurologist to find out about other treatment options, including non-narcotic treatments. I hope you get relief soon.
