I had a fetal demise at 17 weeks and subsequent D&E in May. Was given prometrium bc I couldn't stop bleeding and was trying to cycle normally again. Took 2 months. Have been ttc for 2 cycles now and am taking prometrium beg. 2 days past ovulation for 12 days. Was OK with it until this past time. About day 8 of the prometrium, I got so puffy that even my dh noticed that my abdomen was a bit distended. I took the stuff one more day, then got scared and quit. Got my period 2 days later and it's one of the worst I've ever had. Very heavy bleeding and cramps. From the research I've done, I don't believe that this drug is a good idea and I'd like to go without it. Is this stuff really helpful in trying to achieve pg? I am 41, have had one full term birth and 2 losses in the 2nd trimester. Have never had an early mc or LPD. Is swelling like that a typical side effect? Thanks.
