What an interesting question! I can't think of very many artificial body parts in use -- we have hips and knees, which are very limited in their ability to mimic the natural joint. We have artificial heart valves. But I can't think of any artificial hollow organ that would be required to grow and shrink. In order to support an embryo and fetus, the artificial uterus would need to take on many functions in response to hormonal stimulation -- a mind-boggling feat of engineering. So it does not strike me as likely that an artificial uterus would be seen very soon. On the other hand, the technology exists for one woman to hire another woman to carry a pregnancy to term, even with the egg and sperm of the "employer's" choice. Surrogacy is about as close as we have right now to an "artificial uterus."
