Uterine prolapse & bladder tearFrom: Victoria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 22 Sep 1999 06:43:23 -0500 (CDT)
After getting a 2nd opinion, this doctor confirmed what the 1st had said. I need a hysterectomy with repair to the bladder to fix a tear. I'm 32 years old. I've already had my children. Symptoms include: 10 day periods (heavy), painful ovulation on the left, painful intercourse, and urinating frequently. Diagnosis: Uterine prolapse: phase 2, tear in the bladder, and many cysts on the left ovary. Treatment: hysterectomy with removal of the uterus and left ovary, repair the tear in the bladder. I'm so scared. I've never had surgery or anything. I've been searching for information and am totally confused. It seems (from everything I'm reading) that this is the only treatment for uterine prolapse. Any chance I'm missing something? Also, I like the 2nd doctor so much (we just clicked), that I want to switch doctors. I'm feeling guilty now. Any suggestions?
