Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: abnormal bleeding" I am a 17 year old female (18 as of October 8th). Up until July of this year I had not started my period. I have been spotting since then. It gets real heavy every 25 days or so, but as of three weeks ago I have been heavy non-stop. Just today I started experiencing a tight feeling in my abdomen. Not really painful, but a definite pressure. I have not had sexual intercourse for over a year, if that makes a difference. I also have noticed hair starting to grow on my chin and chest. It is very unattractive and I am wondering what is causing this. I am not on birth control and I have never had a pelvic exam. What is causing my excessive bleeding and abnormal hair growth?
