Complex Cystic Mass on Left Ovary with Septation WallFrom: Belinda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 15 Sep 1999 12:45:33 -0500 (CDT)
I am 41 and have been having problems with abnormal uterine bleeding. First ultrasound 1 month ago showed thickened endometrium lining and cyst on left ovary. Vaginal ultrasound last Friday showed that cyst is "complex cystic mass" with septation wall, but doctor didn't think endometrium was still thickened at 7 1/2. My GP is referring me to a gynecologist and said that he will either want to wait and watch or do a laporascopy. GP said that cyst is probably benign, but I'm not so sure. I have not felt very well for quite some time - gas, both bowel and bladder urgency, fatigue, shortness of breath, and other signs that I have read could be ovarian cancer, including the fact that I look pregnant! Can someone please elaborate for me on what the "septation wall" and "complex cystic mass" mean? I've been doing a lot of research but can't seem to find much info on either of those terms. Thanks.
