Endometritis-I need an answerFrom: Kimberly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 3 Sep 1999 16:20:41 -0400
Hi there, I've never heard of endometritis - are you sure it wasn't endometriosis? If not, please accept my apologies for butting in <smile> However.... Whatever condition you have, you need a new doctor, in my opinion. Good doctors explain at least general information about diseases, conditions, and what to expect with their patients. From what you've said it doesn't sound like she has.....I'd be hesistant to continue with a doctor that can't even explain to me the details of my conditions and treatment. By the way - somewhere along the line a doctor may recommend this, especiall if it is endometriosis but: don't ever, ever take the drug Lupron - not even for a month! (Also called Lupron Depot, leuprolide acetate, etc) I and hundreds of other women across the country have taken it and some have ended up after or a few years after taking the drug in wheelchairs, with major system disorders, pain, worsening of your original disease symptoms, eye problems, depression, weight gain, skin problems, heart problems, brain problems, cancer, or death. While on the drug, patients have hot flashes, weight gain, bone pain, depression, and many other symptoms. Sometimes permanent effects don't show for years, and doctors are not required by law to report these damages. The drug does (documented) cause bone loss (osteoporosis) and has not been adequately evaluated by the FDA. I have because of the drug a visual disorder, osteoporosis, arthritis, arthrosis, weight change, skin problems, and hot flashes from it, as permanent problems. Matter of fact, they did the first story about this drug in the Boston Herald Newspaper not this weekend, but the weekend before, and a little of my story was on the *front page* of the Monday- before-last's paper. Also did I mention, my endo pain, nausea, heavy bleeding, etc are all back now, and worse than before starting the drug. If you want verification, go to this website: http://www.voicenet.com/~nvln for more info, and in the meantime, stick to BC pills or surgery if needed. Ultrasounds, sonagrams, etc do *not* always show endometriosis, and there are other conditions it won't show as well, so perhaps it doesn't show endometritis? You'd need a laparoscopy to diagnose what's going on most accurately. If your doctor thinks that just because an ultrasound/sono shows nothing and thinks a condition can't exist because of it, again, you need a new one. Take care, feel free to email me privately for any more information or help. Kas
