So it sounds like you're having a late, extra heavy, extra painful period with four days of no bleeding in the middle. I would not jump to any conclusions about cause based on one crazy period. Certainly, if you have not had a gyn exam in the last year, you should schedule one as soon as possible. Otherwise, I would continue carefully to monitor and record your bleeding and other menstrual symptoms; if the next couple of periods are odd, I suggest you make an appointment with your health care provider.
