I'd like to be able to give you facts and statistics on what amount of spotting over what time is associated with what statistical risk of miscarriage, but I don't think this information exists. Even your "50%" statistic comes as a surprise to me. Many women experience this nerve-wracking symptom during pregnancy. Knowing it's common doesn't make it any less upsetting. I've been there myself. Keep in touch with your prenatal care provider, keep your fingers crossed, and try to concentrate on the high likelihood that your pregnancy will continue normally. I'll be thinking of you.
