Pregnancy tests measure hCG levels. But progesterone is needed to help maintain the pregnancy. You can get a perscription for progesterone if your body is not making enough. As far as I know, it comes in 2 forms (maybe 3). There are suppositories (I've heard those are messy), injections (which are moderately painful - as it's in an oil) and possibly pill form. My RE says that the injections are probably the most efficient.

You could ask you doc about kariotyping (sp?) for you and your partner. That's where they check for physical abnormalities in the genes. And you could ask about getting test for auto immune problems. All these tests are just blood tests.

Oh, by the way, all the above info is just from my own experience. I've been through all this.
