submucosal fibroid question

I have a 4cm submucosal fibroid that is partialy protruding into the endrometrian lining and I was wondering if it can be removed by hystoscopic resection? If not, can it be removed by laperoscopicaly even though it's not protruding into the outside wall. Also is Lupron always given before a myomectomy of this type? I really would like to avoid this medication. Thanks Donna
