No menstruation 9 months after childbirthFrom: debbie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Aug 1999 20:52:28 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. I'm not sure what are the appropriate next steps I should be taking and any advice would be kindly regarded. I have not had my period for 9 months; since the birth of my son. My gyn. said she could give me a high dose pill to assist my period in coming, or she could do a hysteroscopy to see if there are any problems such as my uterine walls being too thin and possibly sticking together - possibly due to an undeclared infection I had had during childbirth which caused me to have fever thus making it necessary to have a c/s. I had a very bad reaction to the "pill" when I had tried taking it a few years ago and I'm not sure what my alternatives are (if any?). Is the hysteroscopy really necessary? Are there any other tests or things that might help to find out if it's just my hormones still out of whack? My periods have ALWAYS been very irregular, but I'm just not sure how serious this could be. I want to have more children soon too?! Thank you ahead of time for any response you might have.
