Progesterone&miscarriages&infertilityFrom: Egija (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 19 Aug 1999 02:33:37 -0500 (CDT)
I am 25. My husband and I are trying to have baby for 3 years. This time I had two miscarriages at the very early stages of pregnacy (aprox.4-5 weeks). I went throught diferrent procedures and doctors found out that the level of progesterone in my blood is not normal. Other hormones seems to be oke'y. I did ultrasounds and it seems that my first part of my period is going well and I ovulate. But there is a problem, my basal temperature doesn't rise in the 14th or 15th day of my period (I have 28 or 29 days in my cycle). It rises only in 20th or 21st day. I had hormone therapy (HcG injections and progesterone) but nothing didn't work. Even my basal temperature wasn't high enought. So, I don't understand (and it seems to me that my gyn is a little bit confused) can my progesterone problem cause infertility (it is almoust ane year when I am traing to get pregnant again)? Because I have read a lot of materials about this problem but I didn't find strong arguments that insuficient level of progesterone can cause infertility, it can cause miscarriages. May there is something else what I have to find out about my health?
