Not sure what your doctor means by a cervical hematoma. If it's a hemangioma, which is an area of increased blood vessels, then this may always bleed after intercourse until it's removed. Here are some possible diagnoses:

1. Endometrial (uterine) polyp. 2. Cervical polyp. 3. Uterine or cervical infection. 4. An endometrial lining that is too thin (from the pill). 5. Cervical hemangioma or similar problem. 6. Uterine fibroid.

When my patients complain of this I usually do the following:

* Thorough vaginal/cervical exam and cultures if indicated. * Saline infusion vaginal ultrasound looking for a polyp (an alternative is to do a hysteroscopy or hysterosalpingogram).

This is not normal, and while it's probably not dangerous, you should not have to deal with this problem. Please let your doctor know about this, so he or she can fully evaluate you for the cause. Treatment of any of the above conditions is usually straightforward.

Best wishes,
