How do I go about receiving help from a doctor?From: Roxanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 18 Aug 1999 17:14:32 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 24 wks pregnant with my second child. I have a mostly brownish and some times red spotting that occurs every few days or so. Sometimes it will occur with a bowel movement or sex, or for an unknown reason it is almost looks like mucus or discharge. My ob said I had a low-lying placenta at 16 wks and at 20 wks was no longer considered low-lying. He said my cervix looked around 5" and said that I'm just overdoing it, he didn't do in internal exam. I called last night and the on-call Dr. said to come in since I was having back pain and a few more clots than normal. I went in described for the nurse what was going on they monitored me, did a uranalysis, and then told me the Dr. said I have cervicitis and prescribed Flagyll 500mg, no culture or internal exam was performed. Does this sound like normal procedure? Thanks, Roxanne
