My periods have always been long with heavy bleeding and clotting. My doctor tested me last fall and found I was indeed going through menopause. I have been on Premphase for about 9 months. I recently had a Pap smear which was normal, but because of continued pain, I also had an pelvic ultrasound. The ultrasound showed a striped endometrium with some possible calcification, ovaries were fine. I am waiting for the results of a biopsy. My doctor said that if it is benign, it can be treated with medication. My question is, is this a common occurrance and if so what are the chances that it might not be benign and what is the treatment for this? I hope I haven't asked too much, trying not to worry.
