vaginal smell after hysterectomy

I had a complete hysterectomy at the age of 28, 4 months ago. Since the hysterectomy, I have had a foul smelling odor that is really bad. There is no more pain and besides the odor, I am doing great. I am actually having less sex than what I was before the surgery so I don't believe it is due to that. I douche approximately once a month, but that doesn't seem to help. I first thought it was because my insides were healing, but I don't believe that it is the case now. I don't believe that it is an infection either. What could this be from? and how long is it going to last? I have always been very self-consious about odor and this is really affecting me especially when my fiance' mentions it. I can smell it too during and after sex and it has a real strong taste too. At a day's end, the odor comes through my under clothes.
