fibroids @ 42From: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Aug 1999 20:11:42 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 42-year old woman who has always weighed 100 lbs (other than pregnant x2). My problem is over the last year I have gained 15 pounds, and I'm only 5'2" with a small frame and this is not normal for me. My periods are all over the map; they last a long time; and I feel awful during them. My doctor told me I have fibroids a couple months ago and wanted to start me on Norethindrone. I'm afraid to take it because the first side effect at the top of the sheet they give you at the pharmace says, "weight gain." I cannot gain any more weight. I exercise and eat right. I've even tried eating less, but nothing helps. What should I do? Thank you very much for any response.
