Thank you Dr. Marchbein! Test results for abnormal bleeding..From: Julia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Jul 1999 20:57:46 -0500 (CDT)
July 1, 1999 I posted a question concerning 'Irregular Periods and Abnormal Bleeding.' I thank Dr. Harvey Marchbein for taking the time to reply. I gave his recommendation to my gynocologist, who previously ignored these continuing symptoms that worried me greatly. My doctor ordered three tests: endometrial biopsy, pelvic ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound. I am very relieved to report that the biopsy and ultrasounds were normal. My greatest fear, of course, was cancer. I am still having abnormal bleeding between periods and sometimes a chocolate-colored discharge. My doctor believes that my problem is due to hormones. Presently we are discussing possible hormone therapy, or if it might be better to 'ride it out' and see if this frustrating problem resolves itself. I wanted to provide an update to thank Dr. Marchbein and help other women. Sometimes it is scary to be female when things like this happen! It is easy to become distraught and worried when there is unexplained bleeding, and/or pain. It is great that this forum exists to give women support, medical advice, and education.
