Hey Anne,

You should probably do some research on Progesterone...estrogen is not the only hormone the ovaries make...if your estrogen level gets too high in relation to your progesterone you may experience: Weight gain, depression, fatigue, insomnia, dry skin, hypothyroid-like symptoms, and the list goes on... I know this because it happened to my sister.

Another thing she and I learned recently is that natural hormones are much more usable for our bodies than synthetic because they are "identical" instead of "similar" (like the synthetic)....therefore the body recognizes them and can use them more effectively.

It is possible your body will come out of the post-surgical shock and begin to regulate itself again...it is also possible that your one remaining ovary will continue to lose it's ability to function properly...not due to you using exogenous (or from the outside) estrogen, but because depending on how your doctor did the surgery, the blood supply may be cut off to the ovary (Ovarian and uterine blood supply are closely related)....good luck in your research...hope you feel better soon!

Love and Health, Stephanie
