uterine cramping after periodFor more information on symptoms and treatment of endometriosis visit www.EndometriosisZONE.org. From: Laura (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Jul 1999 23:42:06 -0500 (CDT)
I am 37 (38 soon). My period started 7/10, ended 7/15 and I am still having uterine cramping and excessive bloating. The cramping is similar to labor in that I can feel the contraction build in intensity and then let up. I went to see my Gyn and she said oh you probably have PMS. The pelvic exam increased the intensity of the cramps for 2 days. My husband had a vasectomy 5 years ago, so pregnancy is not an issue. I don't buy PMS one bit. I also have night sweats, memory lapses, itchy crawly skin, irritability and dramatic mood swings including sudden bouts of crying, sometimes I am unusually aware of my heart beating and my "moustache" is getting darker and thicker. My periods have change dramatically over the last 3-4 months. I haven't had cramping and bloating since my teens. My periods used to be very regular with moderate to light bleeding for 4-5 days. They are now Heavy bleeding for 2-3 days and moderate to light bleeding for 2-3 days. I suspect perimenopause. Should I be concerned about the cramping? Or is this just part of the whole process of perimenopause? Thanks for any insight Laura
