Change in Menstrual VolumeFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Jul 1999 20:13:28 -0500 (CDT)
Over the last year or so I have experienced a decrease in the flow of my periods. I have been under extreme stress prior to and during this time. As a means to help with the stress I started an exercise program (4-6 times a week). I experienced weight loss equivalent to 20% of my previous body weight. I had an annual exam last year and mentioned the change to the nurse and Dr. but received no comment. Results of the exam were normal, with the exception of the discovery of fibroids (endovaginal ultrasound was done). I have never had children and am 37 years old. Is the change in volume due to the normal aging process? I'll be scheduling this years annual exam soon, should I press for some explanation? Could this be from a hormonal imbalance?
