CA125 blood testFrom: athena (http://anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 18 Jul 1999 16:12:28 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with fibroids and a right ovarian cyst in December of 1998. I have had three sonagrams and three CA125 test. The fibroids have measured at 20wks, 14wks, and now at 16wks. The CA125 test has been at 43.7, 30.4 and now at 48.6. In December, the cyst was measured at 4.5. It is now smaller. I am 41 years old and would like to become pregnant in the future. My FSH is 9.8. I have eliminated meats from my diet for estrogen purposes. I have also included soy products to my diet. I am not experiencing any of the usual symptoms associated with this situation (no heavy bleeding, no pain, etc.). If it were not for the cyst, surgery would not be recommended at this time. The cyst does not appear clear on the sonagram and the CA125 blood test is slightly elevated. Is it possible that the presence of the fibroids can elevate the CA125 test?
