How old are you? If over thirty check out the OBGYN.net Menopause & Perimenopause Section at http://www.obgyn.net/meno/meno.htm and read articles on Perimenopause to see if this sounds like what you are experiencing. If you are under 30, and this is a big concern to you, get a second opinion.
