Color of Amniotic FluidFrom: Shona (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Jun 1999 16:24:33 -0500 (CDT)
Recently my third child was delivered by C-section because labor would not start and inducing failed to work. When the amniotic sac was ruptured, I noticed that the fluid was greenish in color and opaque. I was eight days overdue by my doctors calculations(two by mine),the baby was large(4300 grams) and ultrasounds showed calcifications of the placenta. The baby was not stressed, and both my other children were late, of similar size, and delivered naturally. Was this a necessary C-section, and what does the strange appearance of the amniotic fluid mean?
